Easter Event at Wirksworth Station
Party Workshops Family Circus
Ever fancied trying your hand at circus tricks? Returning to Wirksworth Station is the excellent Family Circus where there’s juggling, spinning plates, wire walking and much much more! They’ll teach you how to do it!
There will be amazing fire performances at regular intervals throughout the day (sorry, you can’t try that bit!)
You can take part for free if you have a Wirksworth and Duffield line Day Rover ticket it is just £2.00 for those just wishing to pop along and join in the fun!

Our popular Easter Egg Hunt will be taking place around the station.
Trains between Wirksworth and Duffield are running to the Green Timetable
Steam trains are running on the fearsome 1 in 27 incline to Ravenstor at intervals through the afternoon from 11:50 (small supplement applies)

Easter Weekend Reptile Extravaganza!
Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday & Easter Monday – 10am-4:30pm
Come and see this fantastic collection of exotic creatures! Featuring a variety of animals including bearded dragons, corn snakes, geckos, a tarantula and everyone’s favourites Hugo the Savannah Monitor and Lucy the seven foot boa constrictor!
Bring your cameras, as you will get many photo opportunities when you meet and greet these fantastic creatures in this educational experience!
(Free with entry to the park).
Tricksy the Dinosaur – Easter Monday 2nd April 2018
As part of our Easter Reptile Weekend –
We thought we’d bring in a T-Rex!
TRICKSY THE DINOSAUR is the UK’s first female animatronic T-Rex!
At an incredible 6ft tall and over 10ft long, Tricksy the Dinosaur blinks, roars and walks like a real dinosaur. She will be with us at Matlock Farm Park for around 3 hours.
Tricksy LOVES meeting and greeting people- so bring your cameras!
Don’t worry, they feed her before she meets our visitors…

The RHS Chatsworth Flower Show returns to the Chatsworth Estate with a host of exciting features to satistfy your curiosity.
From the Great Conservatory filled with spectacular orchids, to the floral first of a river of flowers, the 2018 show blends tradition with innovative design for a thrilling day out.

Princess & Pirate Weekend at Gulliver’s Theme Parks
Get ready for a princess and pirate takeover across our theme parks. There will be treasure treats, fancy dress events, themed activities and so much more. Percy Pirate will be on stage with some swashbuckling songs and Princess Gilly will be making special appearances throughout the day.

World War II – Home Front / 1940s Event

You may need your tin hat and gas mask if you visit Crich Tramway Village during its World War II Home Front Event
The museum will be turning back to a period where Britain was at war. Historic wartime road and military vehicles will be on show and on the move, mingling with a range of vintage trams, which visitors will be able to ride on as often as they like.
Rita’s Tearoom will be serving wartime fayre and the Red Lion public house will be serving drinks while visitors can join in with traditional pub games.
Live singers will entertain with music from the era.
Plus, dress up in 1940s clothes and we offer a reduced admission charge, but if you wish to attend more than one event during the season, it may be better value to purchase full priced tickets (please check at Admissions). Please note that free return admission tickets are not valid for this event.

PEAK RAIL – 1940s WEEKEND
6th & 7th August 2016
Rowsley South Station, off Harrison Way, Rowsley, Nr Matlock, Derbyshire. DE4 2LF
Take a journey down memory lane as this event gives you a unique opportunity to experience life in World War II and how both the military and civilians survived and adapted to war.
All of the action takes place at our Rowsley South Station site which is open to the public from 10.30 a.m. till 5.30 p.m on both days. There is a Normandy Cinema showing short films in the building at Darley Dale Station if you would like to break your train journey.
