THE SHALIMAR -a wonderful spacious traditional Indian restaurant with chandeliers, plush carpets, comfy seats, and brass statues .. and of course beautiful authentic food! Such a wonderful welcoming venue If you can’t tear yourself away they will deliver straight to your caravan! Our new curry to caravan partners!

THE PLOUGH INN TWO DALES – a fabulous favourite local pub. If you are feeling brave you can walk through the woods and into the village..but remember it’s all uphill back! Cosy fires in winter and huge beer garden in the summer. Dogs are always welcome!

BARRINGTONS – is situated just down in the village of Darley Dale. If you are feeling particularly adventurous you could walk the woodland walk from the farm and into the village…but remember..it’s all uphill back! You would be rewarded with great pub meals, with great grills and steaks and they usually have an offer for two steaks or two fish dishes with a bottle of house wine for a set price! (Could be the decider on that taxi back!) They are also very dog friendly in the front room but not the Oak Room Restaurant as well as having a large beer garden. They are right next to The Whitworth Park with a play area, a lake and plenty of green areas.

REMARKABLE HARE – a modern bar and brasserie that have developed a food offer that aims to sustain and delight both locals and visitors on business or visiting the town in their leisure time. Situated just over the bridge and along the A6 with a car park behind…They offer a variety of bar food that complements a range of real ales, lagers, craft beers, wines and sodas. They specialise in a classic menu, done well, with a fabulous tapas range as well as great pizzas! They also do an amazing Sunday Roast! One of our favourites!

THE MAAZI – a fabulous ambience in this local Indian restaurant with views over Hall Leys Park. If you’ve stayed with us before they also deliver!

THE THORN TREE– with a terrace with views to die for (You could almost be in the Hills of Tuscany!) this small cosy pub usually has food on offer.. pie nights, bangers and mash nights …plus they now offer a lunch menu. Dog friendly throughout!

THE TIPSY TOAD – This is a great little contemporary bar just down the bottom of the hill on the A6 into Matlock. Often has live music and Sky Sport on big screens. It does get very busy at weekends but if great (sometimes loud!) music, food , a vibrant atmosphere in a contemporary industrial setting is your thing…..you wont be disappointed! And you can take the dog!

THE BOAT INN – A little further afield in Cromford is one of our favourite little haunts for the best steaks ! Lots of other pub favourites including a Sunday Carvery on the menu too, plus they have special menu nights during the week. Think log fires, beams great friendly atmosphere and very dog friendly! A great stop after a walk along the Cromford Canal across the A6. Plenty of car parking at Cromford Wharf.

STONES RESTAURANT – For a beautiful fine dining experience it doesn’t come much better than this. Situated by the bridge along the River Derwent , you will need to book very early for this popular family run restaurant. The menu is updated constantly to reflect the seasonal availability so expect fresh, modern British cuisine at its best.

BRADMANS WINE CELLAR – A brand new wine bar on Dale Road which is fast becoming a real favourite locally. Fine wines, cocktails , beers and ales all available. Order charcuterie and cheeseboards in advance of your visit to enjoy with your drink of choice! Beautifully styled in a renovated bank …a look around the old vault is a must and on a sunny day try the terrace overlooking the river.
